
Dr. Marieke Bakker
Dr. Marieke Bakker studied dentistry at ACTA in Amsterdam and subsequently completed her specialization in orthodontics at Radboud UMCN in Nijmegen. During her training, she co-founded and served as secretary of the European Postgraaduate Student Orthodontic Society (EPSOS).
Since 2007, Dr. Bakker has been running her own practice in Leiden and was the owner of another practice in Amsterdam until 2014. Her areas of expertise cover a broad range of modern orthodontic treatments, including aligner systems as well as traditional orthodontic appliances. Additionally, she has experience with combined orthodontic-surgical therapies.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Bakker has been actively involved in various professional associations for many years, including ANT, KNMT, NVvO, EOS, WFO, and EAS. From 2007 to 2010, she served on the board of ANT, and from 2018 to 2023, she was a board member of the Dental Association of Leiden (LTV). Dr. Bakker frequently lectures and is committed to advancing orthodontics both nationally and internationally.
