Dr. Jörg Schwarze
Dr. Schwarze studied dentistry in Bologna, Cologne and Bonn where he obtained his orthodontic specialization and doctorate degree. Since 2001, he has treated more than 3000 patients with aligners in his two private practices in Cologne. Dr. Schwarze is also running an independent specialist orthodontic laboratory (KFO24 GmbH) and founded the Aligner Academy in 2017.
He is in permanent scientific exchange with various Universities such as Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mainz and Ferrara/Italy (Associate Professor). He constantly holds lectures on an international level and is releasing scientific publications. Dr. Schwarze is a member of various orthodontic associations and co-founder and General Secretary of the German Association of Aligner Orthodontics (DGAO), member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Angelalign.
He won three awards (1992, 2009, 2013) of the German Orthodontic Society (DGKFO) and received the Align Technology International Research Award in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2019 as well. In 2012 and 2021 he also received the Scientific Award of the DGAO. Dr Schwarze published his extraction strategy “IPRpe” (Smart Extraction) in 2012 for the first time and developed the Aligner pliers “Gun I”, “Gun II” and “SlotMachine”.
